Process Description of FRP Insulation Pipe

The FRP insulation pipe features a foam interlayer structure, primarily composed of an FRP pipe, a polyurethane insulation layer, and an FRP outer protection pipe. The polyurethane interlayer offers excellent advantages such as cold resistance, heat insulation, lightweight, strong adhesion to the outer protection pipe, uniform load distribution, and good impact resistance.

Process Design

  • FRP Pipe: The choice of resin, fiber, and the thickness of the materials is determined based on the medium, concentration, temperature, and pressure. These factors guide the production process.
  • Polyurethane Material: Rigid polyurethane foam with low thermal conductivity (0.016–0.08 kcal/m•h•℃) and good cold resistance (-45℃) is used. The thickness depends on the operating conditions and environmental factors. The design ensures that the temperature of the medium remains within the specified range during operation.
  • FRP Outer Protection Pipe: This pipe primarily protects the polyurethane insulation layer and has a low thermal conductivity, approximately 1/100–1/1000 of that of metal (0.34 kcal/m•h•℃). Additionally, it bears external loads and contains UV absorbers and aging-resistant agents to extend the service life of the FRP insulation pipe.
